To measure and improve performance and further enhance accountability of government agencies, each government agency needs to establish Key Performance Indicators (IKU). An IKU is a measure of the success of an organization's strategic goals and objectives. The objectives of establishing Key Performance Indicators are:

1. To obtain important and necessary performance information to carry out good performance management;
2. To obtain a measure of success in achieving an organization's strategic goals and objectives which is used to improve performance and increase performance accountability.
